Herb-Drug Interactions in Pain Management
12:30 PM (MTN)
A deep dive into herb-drug interactions specific to pain medications, presented by a pharmacology expert from National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM).
I completed my clinical training as a naturopathic doctor (ND) at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) along with my master’s degree in integrative medical research. I then pursued additional research experience as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Washington under the T90 Building Research across Inter-Disciplinary Gaps (BRIDG) clinical research training program. My research interests included characterizing natural product-drug interactions, vitamin D metabolism, and microbiome-mediated impacts on health. Upon completion, I accepted a position as the Chief Scientific Officer at Thaena, Inc. in Portland, OR. I also see patients part-time at Flora Medicine, where my primary focus is on gut health and Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) therapy for recurrent Clostridioides difficile infections.
